Review on πŸš— Automotive Integrated Electronics OE USB CD Player (USBCDPLAY2) – Enhanced Vehicle Compatibility (Refer to Vehicle Fit Chart PDF) by Khalil Hopp

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Unreliable. Cannot play some CD audio file formats

This player has excellent sound quality and design and is suitable for a car control system with only one SSB connection. Too bad it only does half the work and isn't ready for the market. They rushed it into production and didn't test if it would play most CD formats. Instead of testing it, AIE put a "Counsel of Warning" in the box for their own protection (COA) stating that it "only plays WMV formats" so they won't be held responsible if it comes up with some CD not working. Well, that's nonsense! How do I know what CD format I'm buying? The lid of the CD box does not indicate this. All other CD players, including cheaper portable ones, will play any CD format if you buy them from a store like Best Buy. For some reason this player can't. If you buy or trade a CD then it is a roulette game that is played on this machine. I tried two such devices at my own expense to make sure they were the same and both did the same thing. Automotive Integrated Electronics must produce products that are ready to be sold in the marketplace. You should not make products ready to be tested on a model by the customer. This is what AIE did to get something "half-finished" into production. I'm tired of "testing" released products before they can work. AIE - Go back to the design board and finish it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
