I got these pants because they offered me exactly what I was looking for: denim, cargo pockets, drawstring for a better fit, elastic waistband. There are reasons for each of them. 1) I like denim, it wears well and is usually a nice blue color; 2) cargo pockets because I hate carrying a purse with me so cargo pockets can ensure women's fashion doesn't fit into undersized pockets; 3) Elastic waistband. Well, better elastic than no adjustable waist. As for drawstring - points for this fiasco. "tip" does not work. This is a piece of string that just hangs in front. It's useless and I cut it off. I will not be returning these pants. Also, I won't be buying it again. When you advertise a shoelace, it has to be functional.
