Review on Merino Kids Winter Sleep Bag for Infants and Toddlers 0-2 Years by Kenny Sarma

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I regret buying a winter bag. Too heavy!

I bought 3 different merino sleeping bags for my one month old baby for the start of winter. The sleeping bag idea is great. They are warm, safe and comfortable. My daughter switched from diaper to sleeping bag without any problems. Merino sleeping bags are of very high quality and easy to wash. The good thing is that I can wash them in the washing machine on the gentle cycle. Tumble drying even on "Normal" also works and won't harm them. Ideal! All zippers work great. The problem I have with this winter sleeping bag is that it's too heavy. We live in New York and we've had a pretty cold winter. Our house is over 150 years old and very drafty so we needed these sleeping bags to keep our baby warm. However, when I put my baby in this winter sleeping bag 2 times, she was completely sweaty. Of course, all kids are different, but I don't know how cold it needs to be for a winter weight kid to be comfortable. A regular Merino Kids or Woolino with a long sleeved romper and long pants or booties underneath is more than enough to keep my baby warm. First of all, I would like to send this expensive sleeping bag back, which is too warm, but unfortunately that is not possible. I regret the purchase.

Pros
  • Textile scientists recommend the Merino Kids sleeping bag. The child does not wake up from cold or overheating. Naturally absorbs and releases moisture, creating an ideal safe microclimate for winter use only or indoor temperatures between 53 and 64 degrees Fahrenheit. TOG rating: 2.3 - 3.5
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
