As mentioned, these desk tops are built to last. I liked that they were affordable and made from natural wood. As others have also mentioned, hand carving is a little tricky, but as a side table I thought it wouldn't be a big deal (compared to a review mentioning it's TERRIBLE for a desk) and I have nothing versus a more rustic one it looks like it will be durable so I ordered 2 of these for my living room. Unfortunately the first one came and had a tear running the length of the top. Not a big deal, but since I'll be needing these tables for years to come, I've requested a replacement. The second table I ordered initially got lost in the mail system and I received it on the same day as the replacement. I brought home my second table and spare and noticed a damaged corner on one of them along with a nice deep hole in the wood. The second also had a tear about halfway through the tip. Another hit was that the top two tops appear to be slightly different solid colors with completely different hand carvings. Given the failure, I decided to just get a mall refund. The corner didn't bother me much, but the holes and tears make it difficult to clean, collect crumbs, etc. Also, the "hand assembly" differences aren't fundamental to me. I just don't like cracks and holes in the countertop so this is too rustic for me.
