Great kit for betta beginners. Apart from a betta OR a pair of shrimp/snails, no other fish should be placed in this tank as the biological stress will ruin the water parameters. Bettas need at least 2.5 gallons, a constant temperature of around 79F (you may need a heater), a mini sponge filter connected to an air pump (to aerate the water and retain beneficial bacteria), and a few milkweed. The included aquarium filter is too strong for bettas and could damage your fins. To prepare the aquarium I would suggest using a dechlorinator/water conditioner such as API Anti-Stress Coating (aquarium comes with a few samples) and then adding Tetra Safestart to the tank just before placing the fish in the tank switch. That always works for me. The LED is not the best, but suitable for a beginner. I also noticed a few dead corners due to the shape of the tank. I think this aquarium is good value for money and most importantly big enough for bettas.
