Review on ๐ŸŒฟ Enhance Your Aquarium with Finnex Planted+ 24/7 CRV LED Light for Optimal Growth and Vibrant Colors by Melody Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent light (after programming)

Using this product on 20 gallon length (30 inch) with CO2*** TANK WIDTH (NO DARK CORNERS) I have Satellite Pro and Fluval tried out. Both don't have a 30" fixture so I was forced to buy a 24" fixture. This left the corners dark. - CHANGED MOUNTING BRACKET TILT THE LIGHT The new brackets allow me to tilt the light, which is very convenient. is perfectly level, I can see the LEDs (which are very bright). The ability to tilt the light allows me to position the light closer to the front of the tank and tilt the light to shine front to back. Then the LEDs don't shine in my eyes - PLANTS ARE HAPPY Plants that need a lot of light will flower. Going from total darkness to 100% brightness felt mean. It is clear that the fish was alarmed and rushed around. They even warn them by saying "Light!" did not help :-) So, in order to reduce the number of suspicious shocks, I finally decided to spend money on a new device. PROGRAMMABLE This is useful for clarifying your schedule. For example if you work 3rd shift and want the lights to come on when you are awake and not when the rest of the world is awake. Or if you need light periods longer or shorter than the default settings to reduce algae - BLACK ALUMINUM BODY I have had aluminum colored (silver) Finnex products in the past. Since I don't keep a canopy over my tank, they were unattractive (in my opinion). Black is less noticeable and (in my opinion) more attractive. In addition, the aluminum body makes it durable. It doesn't look cheap. And I would guess that it helps with heat dissipation. THIS IS ISS, as there is no display you need to be sure the time entered for the current time is what the instrument is using. You should then track the next 24 hours to make sure it's working according to your program. There are no numbers on the remote control to enter the time. It has buttons that display 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, 9:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 or 21:00. To set the time accurately, you must wait for one of these times. For example, to set the device time to 3:00 PM, I have to wait until 3:00 PM, press the 24/7 button, then press the 15:00 button, and then press the 24/7 button again to set the time save . If I miss 3pm, I have to wait and hope that by 6pm I'll remember to push the buttons. If you're looking for an easy-to-program tool, I recommend Fluval, which uses an app on your phone/tablet. Even the Satellite Pro had an LED display (although it was a bright red LED display, which wasn't appropriate for a dark bedroom either). - STATUS LEDS ARE LARGE AND BRIGHT The instrument displays its current mode with white and blue LEDs on one side. fixtures. The combination of whether 0, 1 or 2 LEDs are lit, flashing or lit indicates the current mode. Since this aquarium is in my bedroom and I have it set to a custom 24/7 cycle, both LEDs are lit (not blinking). These LEDs do not contribute to a completely dark room while sleeping. I have to cover for her. - NOT AS SMOOTH AS OTHER LIGHTS Compared to Fluval and Satellite Pro, this light is very tall. Others were very thin and low above the water - THE PLANTS ARE HAPPY I have to thin out a lot because the plants are growing very well. But that's an acceptable downside. @FINNEX If you're reading this, this is my wish list for the next model. And I'd be in exchange for an add-on for these great ideas :-D- PROGRAMMING VIA THE APP Benefits include - Easier to program - No need for tape to cover the LEDs which bother me when I go to bed - Gone lest my doubts know if the device is what time - Automatically adjusts to Daylight Saving Time since it gets the time from the phone - Eliminates the need to point the remote directly at the sensor - Easy control of multiple devices (I'm viewing of 2 24" fasteners instead of one 48" mount on my 40 gallon length) - This would make the 2nd and 3rd items on my wish list doable - SEVERAL 24/7 SCHEDULE USERS would like in the Be able to set different programs for weekends and weekdays to better fit my schedule when I sleep on weekends. - LOCATION-BASED PROGRAM Body position, set the time the lights stay on bt. imitate what is happening outside. The days are shorter in winter and longer in summer. Even better, set the weather profile to match my location. For example 100% brightness on sunny days. Less bright on cloudy days. Maybe even lightning during a storm. Full moon, new moon etc. - OPTIONAL CO2 OUTLET. It would be nice to be able to hook up a CO2 regulator solenoid to the light so that it only turns on when the light's brightness is above a certain level. I currently need to sync with my custom program with a separate automatic timer. That means if I change my program, I have to remember to change the CO2 timer as well. I used to do this with a timer that required 2 stubs. One for light and one for CO2. But the light was an old fixture with 0% or 100% brightness and I've already explained the suspicious wobble.

Pros
  • True RED LEDs 660 Nm
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen
