Review on ๐ŸŽง Enhance Your Listening Experience with Etymotic Research Isolator Noise Isolating Earphones by Joshua Reese

Revainrating 3 out of 5

My fourth pair. That sounds good. Cozy.

Lost the first and third pair of MK5, one in the case, one outside the case. On the second pair, the wires were worn out. I attached a gold ribbon to the black case and another to the gray wires. On the pavement, the case or the cables almost disappear. They sound great, are comfortable under helmets (Schubeth C3 Pro and E1) and are perfect for dampening wind and engine noise on the motorcycle (stock pipes) even without music. You can only hear someone wearing a helmet and headphones talking loudly unless there is music playing. The sound of a siren or a horn can also be heard clearly when listening to music. The earbuds are quieter than the Etymotics earbuds. I use large herringbone lures. Choosing the right tip size and shape is very important. I have another brand of noise canceling 20dB earbuds and the headphones are much better. It helps to lick them before putting them in your ear (get used to it) and to pull up the top of your ear if they don't fit well. I solve the problem with frayed cables by making sure to put the headphones in a protective case and NOT dangling them in my bag or pocket. These Etymotic MK5 headphones are also better than Apple AirPod Pro at noise reduction. On the AirPod Pro, the motor sounds awful and a little louder with noise cancellation on. Also, my AirPods fall out of my ears when I remove my helmet and often bounce off sidewalks or concrete surfaces. My nightmare is that they will fall into the bike's hot innards and come out in the form of white gum, but that hasn't happened yet. Etymotic MK% stays in my ears until I take them out. For driving, I prefer to use Etymotic dongle headphones to plug into my phone's Lightning port than use AirPods. But I did both.
