I can no longer lean the ladder against the gutters because I just installed new ones. I have skylights that I clear with a telescoping pole while standing on the stairs and because I have a very wide soffit I needed a stair stabilizer that could rest on the roof instead of the house. This model is designed to rest in both places, unlike some that don't recommend rooftop rest. I also liked the simple setup; Simply insert the stabilizer into the holes in the cross braces and you're done. Removal is just as easy. There are no fasteners to use or lose.
