I purchased this kit along with two other products in order to compare them. This kit was the only one that had the woven flat waxed thread that I needed; the sewing thread is ok but not what I needed.The carrying case for this kit is adequate. It has a mesh pocket and three elastic straps to contain your supplies. The construction is decent, and I feel that this should hold up for quite some time.The scissors in this kit are absolute garbage. They do not cut, but just sort of spread around the material, and they were excessively oiled. They went straight into the trashcan.The awls are of decent quality. I look forward to having these available.The brass thimble is a fairly thin metal. It will do the job, but one of the other kits had a slightly better quality and thickness of metal. The needle threader is adequate as well though it had some odd scratches on it. The scratches don’t impact its use at all, it just is a cosmetic imperfection.Of the three kits I purchased, this is the only one that had a needle case. The needles in the case are of decent quality with large eyes, and sharp points. As a leather worker I want blunt points, but that does not really impact my review or score.Overall this kit is a decent quality for an emergency kit. The pouch will be of the most use to me personally.
