Review on πŸ¦‰ Enhanced Meeting Owl Pro: 360-Degree, 1080p HD Smart Video Conference Camera, Microphone, and Speaker (Auto Speaker Focus & Smart Zoom, Noise Equalization) by Samuel Nguyen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The only good thing about this camera is the speaker recognition.

Image quality with Owl Pro is really very bad. Between this camera and the Logitech Meetup, which is about the same price and designed for a similar use, I'd take Meetup every time. While the speaker recognition and zoom on Owl are pretty good and toggle quickly, it does have a few major downsides overall. 1) Surprisingly poor image quality. Grainy images with poor color reproduction even in good lighting conditions. 2) No control over the composite image layout. It does a good job of showing images of the latest speakers wherever they are in the room, but the fact that the beginning of the video stream is always occupied by a panorama of the entire room is extremely annoying. Disabling that part of the image really should be an option. 3) Depending on the video conferencing platform and the number of other participants in the meeting, the fact that there is only one video stream with a composite image in the camera room sometimes results in images of people in that room being just a part of it, e.g. a single one Image from the room, are tiny on the entire meeting screen. While this is not a camera issue, it does limit the effectiveness of the camera.

Pros
  • BEST COOPERATION. Meeting Owl Pro records 360-degree 1080p HD video and 360-degree audio up to 18 feet away and automatically focuses on who's speaking, encouraging active collaboration and increased participation. Ability to pair Meeting Owl Pro with Owl Connect to support even larger meeting rooms and classrooms.
