Bought for the brand name which I don't usually do; but in this case I was looking for a quality work glove. They fit well and were very comfortable. Unfortunately not very durable. The wearing comfort is probably partly due to the very soft leather, which punctures very easily. I don't even know what made the hole. As far as I know, I haven't caught him doing anything particularly sharp. The hole in the palm accelerated very quickly, doing minor light work and rendering it useless. :( Other reviews warned about this, but because of the positives I decided to give it a try. If anyone knows of a good, durable, reliable brand, please share. (Just found the tag - Wells Lamont - didn't see Light Leather pre garden gloves I've had for years that have put through much harder training than these and still work I'll look into.)
