This is a classic two button design and looks classy. You cut a few corners on it. There are no work pockets here - there is no inner lapel pocket at all, and the outer pockets are decorative only. Children this age need bags. They look and feel like polyester. The buttons are plain and have no Arrow logo. The spandex doesn't really add any significant stretch to them, probably because the lining itself doesn't stretch. So be sure to increase the size if your kid is worried about the tightness. The sleeves have almost 2 inches of extra fabric in case you need to lengthen the sleeves for long arms. The length was perfect for our child. The shoulders are slightly narrow, made for a medium or slim figure. Lapels - It doesn't have real lapels, just fabric with no structure. It still looks okay, but apart from the material itself, this is the first and most obvious sign of a good jacket versus a mediocre jacket. Even if you don't, I know a lot about tailoring, but I still think most people will see a mediocre jacket next to a good jacket and subconsciously fix something. While I don't want to complain too much about the price, I just want to make sure people are aware of these issues. Blazers are a tricky thing, even a simple design with no amenities is pretty tricky, requires tons of fabric and tailoring, and this has a good cut and a great fit. And I know it's hard for kids to justify overspending because they barely last a season. Because of this, I highly recommend donating things like blazers (which tend to be worn very little) or swapping clothes at your local church or community center, or even thrift stores. The 8 year old wearing this jacket finds it comfortable and really proud of it so that's really the most important thing. So don't get your hopes up too high, please keep the above issues in mind and I still give this game a solid 4 stars.
