so I bought these to replace the cheap HEAVY carabiners that came with my hammock. Every tourist knows why you are doing this. They are very strong and very light. The locking mechanism is convenient and easy to operate with one hand. A previous reviewer said they're cheap, useless and priced at Β£2200 (they're actually priced at Β£2600) but aren't used for climbing so they're rubbish. how wrong it is True, they are not designed for climbing. Climbing carabiners MUST be at least 20 kN. 20 kN designed for 4500 lbs. So it's true that those 12 knots aren't for climbing, they're pretty strong and light. I used 2 (one at each end) on my hammock. The hammock was rated at 400 pounds, the wooden straps at 2000 pounds (1000 pounds each) and these carabiners at 2600 pounds each for a total of 5200 pounds and they held my fat 200 pound body 8 hours a day for 7 nights. No questions.
