Review on 👞 16 oz PECARD Leather Dressing: Enhance & Condition Leather by Brian Tompkins

As an active rider I own more leather gear than should be allowed and am constantly looking for ways to clean heavy leather boots, jackets and gloves, soften to make and protect. I have tried various oils and pastes including Mink Oil (natural and synthetic), Foot Oil, Obenauf's, Leather CPR and a range of oils and water repellents. (I have to say that CPR is the best cleaner for leather - beats saddle soap in my opinion and does a decent job of softening new leather.) I came across a forum of vintage leather jacket enthusiasts who highly recommended Pecard's Leather Dressing , and decided to give it a try. I first tried it on a pair of relatively new Vanson sport leather jackets. These guys are VERY heavy leather and some of them have broken in the last few months, but they're only halfway comfortable. Although the manufacturer recommends using lightweight fabric, I took the old jacket lover's advice and used my bare fingers, working about a six-inch square at a time. Next came the Schott 418 (Perfecto style but with slightly damaged leather) which has been known to be notoriously stiff since purchase. This time I used an old tube sock and worked in it continuously and let it dry overnight. The next day, all three jackets are much softer and more comfortable! Again, they seemed to soften a little straight away and were noticeably more flexible the next day. So far they've only had light rain, but they appear to be drier. All in all I am very happy with this product and will continue to use it for all my leather products.
