We inherited our son and daughter-in-law's dog after they got a job abroad. We're told she's bell-trained, which means she taps her paw on a bell and rings it when she wants to go outside to relax or just bask in the sun. I am thrilled (and amazed!) by their learning success! The only issue we had (not product related) was that we needed a second one so she could also tell us when she wanted to come. So we bought another one in addition to the one that came with it. The bell ringing is loud enough that we can hear it in the room even with the sliding door closed, but the sound is not uncomfortable at all!
