Love, love, love this pair of shoes. Ideal for school. They are super comfortable and durable. Excellent quality leather. They are not slippery and light. My 4 year old loves them. The shoe strap is attached with Velcro (strong Velcro). She currently wears a size 11 shoe, which is true to size 11 and has room to grow but doesn't look too big. I will definitely go for a size 12 next year because I love this pair of shoes. :)
