Received this bag today in winter berry and was surprised at how cheap the $100 bag was. I've had the VB for a while and carry around a bag called the shoulder tote (which was well made and was only $72 new) which has presumably been superseded by this new Carson design. This new "cotton" is very thin and feels cheap. I don't like the short strap. Looks cheap and scratches the neck. It would be convenient to wear it with just a coat. It's also quite short, about 8 inches. The long strap is too thin. I don't see it all the time. I hate the new metal zipper. It's super spicy. The old VB has a plastic zipper. And the zippers are different. There is a leather pouch to open the bag and a plastic pouch inside the bag. Two types of zippers further reduce the cost of the bag. I don't like the front cover either. It sits at an odd angle, and the sewn-on piece that holds the magnet pulls when I try to open it. Over time I see that it is definitely going away. This bag would have been better at around $65. I do not recommend it and will not buy it again. This new bag needs a redesign.
