Very pretty but not quite black.
I really liked this dress, it's very pretty and flatters the figure but it's definitely not black. I almost thought it was dark blue, maybe it only has dark blue tones but not quite black (like black that has been washed out with dark blue). I've added a photo with a black dress thrown over him to show the difference. The inner lining is definitely dark blue (which is primarily important as I bought this dress for a bridesmaid). I ordered size 8 (my usual size) and it fits perfectly.
