I have this last stage in my system. Overall the operation seems fine. if there is no flow, the water remains in the filter and heats up. Because of this, the first few ounces of water will be warm and smell like plastic. after a bigger river everything is washed off and the water tastes good. I bought it because it was said to be stainless steel and didn't leave a taste, but that's not the case for water that's been in it for over an hour. as it is, the device works, but does not meet its requirements.
