The assembly is defective. The included mounting screws are standard drywall screws (a design issue itself, as drywall screws break easily even if slightly overtightened). Worse, the countersinks on wall mount plates are on the side of the plate that faces the WALL, not on the side where the screw head fits into the chamfer. I can't even flip the mounting plate as the center mounting screw is also countersunk (and correctly countersunk in this case). Shame - the rest of the steps and the hammock appear to be solidly built - just drive a couple of screws into the post rather than using the supplied plastic wall anchors and drywall screws and it looks like it's a solid unit. I was wondering if the design is "good enough" to repair itself. I was also wondering why the hammock isn't 32 inches wide - given the typical 16 inch post center to center spacing, which would allow at least two screws on each end to be countersunk into a hairpin, it would be much stronger. Update: I returned and reordered the first unit hoping I only received a one time error. No, the same problem with the second one.
