Not sure who they designed these jeans for but the waist is HUGE. My son who hates wearing a belt will do so because he likes other jeans. We first bought them for his Marshmallow Halloween costume but he fell in love with them. We've washed, dried and tried to minimize everything, but they definitely need a belt
