I used to have a basic water bottle strap with no insulation or compartments. I used it all the time, but eventually I got tired of carrying around a purse or fanny pack on hikes. Enter this water bottle holder. It comfortably holds my water bottle. He is isolated. It is waterproof and easy to clean. It has several compartments. He has a pillow for my shoulder. This is *exactly* what I need. Now I can leave my cell phone, lip balm and mini first aid kit here when I go camping and I don't have to carry a few things with me or fill my bags. I bought the second one as a gift so it goes without saying that I 100% recommend it. One more thing: Others have mentioned Velcro on the side of the holder. None of the ones I bought (one black, one red) had velcro anywhere so I'm not sure if it was an old design or something. Mine has a small strap on one side that you can slip your hand through for a more secure grip.
