Perfect for what I got it for. As long as it isn't.

UPDATE February 2020: Trying to get it working after we moved back to Florida from North Carolina. It "scans" the Ocala region database, but only enters a few weather channels. Broadcast only static signals to all 100+ stations in the area. Too much money for a device that only lasts 3 years. FIRST CHECK: I received and set up my Uniden HP-2 scanner yesterday. Let me tell you after trying a few scanners 15-20 years ago this one is so easy in comparison. You simply enter a zip code, your city name or your coordinates and all stations within a 10 or 20 mile radius will be scanned. Then you can easily weed out the less useful ones. I received this model as a "tool" not a hobby. I'm going to use it as an intelligence gathering tool so in the event of a local or regional disaster I can know what's going on around me, be it an ice storm or wildfire (the most likely "disasters" in that area) or something worse. I'm not going to spend weeks and months "improving my skills." I have it to make it useful in no time. He's perfect for that.
