The smell is pretty strong when you get it - I think it's the smell of leather. It's spacious, but if you're carrying a lot like me, it could be bigger. Seems to be really good quality. The zippers slide smoothly like high-quality bags - they don't jam. I love it. I love the vertical zip pockets. It's great to put your phone in there and car keys on the other side. Wearing a shoulder strap looks ridiculous because the "backpack" straps are not removable. The shoulder strap is impressive and also of good quality. I give it 4 stars for the strong smell and size - wish it was bigger.
