Review on 🎧 15FT 3.5mm TRS to Dual 6.35mm TS Mono Y-Cable Splitter: iPhone, iPod, Laptop, CD Players, and More! by Josue Porter

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sounds great, works great!

Only used about a week but sounds great. The length is great. The color of the mono plug (left-white, right-red) is great. The only two very minor issues are: a) The 3.5mm stereo jack does not fit into the jack when plugged in. It protrudes a little (see picture), possible breakage? b) the left and right 1/4 inch (6.35mm) mono cables are not connected at all. They are separated from their spade lugs down to a medium sized (1.25 inch - see picture) mono/stereo connector that is about half the length of the cable. So it's 3 cables instead of one. But happy with the product - serves its purpose and works great! UPDATE 11/11/20: I deducted a star from the original rating, it was not possible to deduct only half a star, which would have been my preference. My comment on this The color of the mono plug is "beautiful", maybe it was a bit of an exaggeration. I just noticed that the colors of the white and red plugs have been reversed, the red wire seems to be conducting the left side of the stereo signal while the white wire is conducting the right side. I don't know if this is a simple color coding issue for the mono cables or how they were actually connected to spades/ring conductors. I have tested the cable with various stereo sources to ensure it is the cable and not the original device or media I understand that this is a number It is an aesthetic ethical issue and white = left / red = right is just one Convention, but that's how every other white/red stereo cable and connector I've ever worked with worked. This cable still does what it's supposed to do - split a stereo signal into two mono signals - but it's disappointing that left/right signals don't carry as intuitively expected. A simple workaround is to name/rename them yourself or swap the sockets they are plugged into, but these steps are not required.

  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
