Review on 🗄️ Halifax Winsome Storage/Organization, Black, 5-drawer by Lisa Chavez

I have read a number of negative build reviews on this product but took the chance and felt the need to write my own counter review based on my experience. I already have a similar piece of furniture from Ikea and needed another one. We've moved to a town that doesn't have an IKEA retailer and for some reason this couldn't be delivered. The first thing I like about Winsome is the price. Delivery to my door cheaper than the cost of another without delivery. It falls behind in a few small things, which I'll mention at the end, but the price makes up for it in my opinion. Reviews. I haven't had this problem with this part and would be the first to complain if I did. I've certainly had quality control issues on Ikea items, so it doesn't sound like you avoid this on unassembled items. Let's face it, most of it is a one-time use and will be thrown away in 5 years (if you have more, you're lucky). Line up all the parts and slide the card into the slot (this is a good rule of thumb for any type of build). The card holds the slot between the pieces while you tighten the fasteners. For the body of the cabinet, the part where you do this is the first step where the top and sides come together. Insert the fasteners, but leave them loose. Insert the back card to align the three pieces in their slots, then tighten the cam-lock fasteners. Same strategy when screwing together each drawer with the back/sides/bottoms. I find it necessary for all the flat furniture I've assembled over the years to keep everything level and level, including Ikea. Tightening the fasteners before inserting the card into the slot often misaligns it. Engineers know what they're doing, and if you do it right, they'll line up right. This part seems strong enough when assembled this way. The third thing I really like about this piece is that it comes with casters. My convertible table also has wheels, which I love because I can clean and rearrange furniture when I'm itchy. As I get older I appreciate this kind of help more and it's really nice to have it at a lower price too. Purchase even though I gave five stars. I took the price into account when making this review, so keep the following in mind: 1. The instructions aren't the best. I was a carpenter and metalworker so I had no problems assembling it, but given the instructions I think the average person might have a problem. However, I was able to assemble it in under an hour with my 4 year old "help" :). Everything you need is there. I find it helpful to tear off the first page, which lists all the small dowels, screws, and cam locks, and then put it next to the page of the step I'm working on so I can find the parts I need. 2. The fit/finish/feel is slightly smaller than the nicer Ikea item. The corners are pointed and sharp without attempting to bevel. I was able to fix it by tapping on the corners with a small hammer. The drawers also have a cheaper roller style which makes opening/closing more difficult. None of the issues are important to me, but I felt I should mention them. The benefit of this is that you get what you pay for with a cheaper product, but it still gets the job done with a reasonable level of quality for its intended purpose. It's a home office for me and given the look and feel that matches my other furniture, the perfect size, and the fact that it does its job well at this price point, I think it's a huge win. Now I'm thrilled to be able to clear everything off my countertops and tidy up my workspace.
