Review on πŸ“‘ Enhance Your XM Radio Reception with the Terk Audiovox XM6 Outdoor Home Antenna by Brian Wolf

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great antenna - here are the details

The antenna that came with my XM radio has a miserable 0-1 band where my home office is. So I bought this and installed it behind an upstairs south facing window. Full signal! Boom! Excellent goods; but the description of this is somewhat missing - I had to go through the manufacturer's website, which helped in a way, but not quite. Based on the Revain images for this antenna, it looks like it MAY contain an RG6 video cable. This is not the case (this information was found on the manufacturer's website). I ended up ordering an AudioVox XM6 Terk outdoor antenna, which is a 50ft spool of RG6 cable with standard F connectors (like those used for coaxial video connections) that plugs directly in. to an AudioVox XM6 Terk antenna and I also ordered a Sirius-Xm SRSMBF50 XM RF to SMB adapter to convert the RG6 F connector head end to the SMB connector that my XM radio Dock used. Here's the catch. What they don't tell you is that this antenna pack includes an adapter to convert standard F-Plug to SMB video on the XM Dock - so now I have 2 and only need one. Save $14.99 on what you need! So: This is a great product, includes almost all the hardware needed to install the antenna, easy to install, works great. Purchase an RG6 video cable of a length suitable for your installation (up to 100ft) and do not order an RF-SMB adapter as it is included (although it is not mentioned in the product description). An onboard amp is available for longer runs, but I can't confirm as I only needed a 50ft run and got the FULL signal with no additional equipment.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled
