The problem was a loud pop or bang when I opened the fridge door wide. I emptied the fridge door including the baskets, removed the door from the fridge and placed it outside up on my portable desk/ironing board. Simply pull out the old one (flathead screwdriver under the edge of the old part) and after cleaning, insert the new one. Synthetic lube should be used on rubbing surfaces, as there was none, I used Pam. It still has some noise! My guess is that my door that the part is fitted in has fallen over and is rotating a few degrees.
