We bought this ottoman because we needed a place to store shoes by the front door. We never wear shoes in the house and always take them off when we are in front of the door. I'm fed up with the mountain of shoes on the doorstep. It looked dirty. I found this ottoman and used it to store my everyday shoes. The quality is much better than I thought. The workmanship and fabric are excellent. It's also nice to sit on. The cushion on the top is quiet, thick and durable. It doesn't look like you're going to break this thing if you sit on it to put your shoes on. We also have a dog. We have to walk her 3 times a day. We use this to store her leash and poop bags. This works great because we still have to get our shoes out to get out and walk it. I also like that both sides are half open. Instead of one top detaching, which is awkward and you have to move the top, it only flips halfway. You don't have to place the top part anywhere or strain your muscles to lift it. I chose a light gray fabric. It looks modern and comfortable. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
