Let me start by saying that I bought these for my dogs. They like the little pimple balls that Petco sells, but they're expensive. That's a great price, but don't buy these if your dog is a destroyer. My puppies are toy destroyers. So they've been punching holes in these toys in no time! But the design of the balls allows them to reinflate even with a small hole in the outer surface. So they are still good for loot play. If you are buying these for a child then they are a good choice unless your child is a vampire, werewolf or something with very sharp teeth. They're made of soft, rubbery plastic with neat little protrusions. They can be squeezed together and then protrude again. I would buy them as a birthday present without hesitation.
