Not suitable for water pumps

Purchased for a 90hp Honda outboard. 2003. It appeared to be a very tight fit? I couldn't find the old o-ring when I replaced it, so I don't know what the o-ring is for. And the gasket holes didn't match. Just hope it keeps a good seal. The product says it's for a 90hp Honda but I didn't like it at all.
