I used this to rid the kitchen of the new cupboard smell of VOCs. I couldn't get rid of the smell no matter how much I cleaned. I've tried everything from soap to vinegar to no avail. I bought some aluminum cooking trays and sprinkled charcoal to cover the bottom of the tray and then hid the trays on top of each cabinet. I left the window open as often as possible. Eventually, the smell gradually disappeared. Watch 3-4 weeks. The charcoal is still there, you can't see it, so I just left it there.
