Review on πŸ’‘ Eve Light Strip - Apple HomeKit Smart Home LED Lights Strip, Full Color Spectrum & White, 1800 Lumens by Kyle Sutter

Better than Hue, LIFX equals

I have 1 Hue light bar, 2 LIFX light bars and 2 Eve light bars. The Hue light strip requires a hub (which I already had), while the Eve and LIFX bulbs don't. First I had the Hue lightstrip, so I compared it to the Eve strip. The Eve and LIFX light bars are about the same brightness, and both are brighter than the Hue bar. I used 2 Eve light strips on my desk. My fluorescent reading light went out under the dresser on my desk, so I replaced all of the light with Eve LED strips. I also mounted a 2nd Eve LED strip on top of my dresser so that when recording or streaming video from my desktop computer I can see the intensity of both the downward LED strip for reading and the upward LED strip on top can set . my dresser to get a good backlight for videos. I like the properties of the LIFX strip more as it is more versatile in color. The app allows you to put multiple colors on the same light bar and move the colors around. Eve's light bar requires all LEDs to be the same color. However, there is an occasional lag when I use Siri to control the LIFX light bar. In contrast, the Eve light bar always responds very quickly to voice commands given via Siri. I don't want to blame Hue as they make a good product, but I like Eve and LIFX better in my opinion. If you really need the ability to animate a strip of light with multiple moving colors, use LIFX. If you really only want to use one color for your light bars, I would go with Eve.
