Works GREAT! The purchase is worthwhile. I put one of them at the top of our stairs. Movement turns it on, so the stairs are lit and we can find the bathroom at night. I put the second one in the closet in the hallway. Open the door and we have light. I put the third one in our messy room under the bench where we keep our shoes. The light comes on when you reach for your boots. Great application! You will love these lanterns. A NOTICE. If you're going to use them in high-traffic places (like our stairs), you'll definitely need rechargeable batteries (4x AAA). It probably turns on and off about 100 times a day and lasts about 5 days between charges.
