Low power consumption and VOC. We moved into a newly renovated house. Didn't know it still smelled like paint until a few friends stopped by and said they smelled a hint of paint. I have kids so I tried to get rid of that as much as possible. I also have an ingress meter for testing. What I like: - LOW power: This is a new model. It's not small, but it looks good enough to fit in the living room. Fans 1 and 2 are fine. Fan 3 may be too loud. I used Killawatt to test it on 3 fan speeds: 4W, 10W and >40W, if you care about power consumption I have a smaller desktop speaker similar to GermGuardian. God, that smell of broken plastic on me. Then I started looking. I think only an activated carbon filter can suck in some chemical smells. It doesn't smell like plastic yet. The front cover can be removed very easily. There are two latches on the bottom and two magnets on the top that hold the front cover in place. Behind the front cover there is a huge space for installing a filter. The larger the area, the more efficient. Dislikes: I don't have rubber feet or anything on the bottom. I'm going to Home Depot to get something to protect my hardwood floor.
