Review on πŸŽ’ Ultimate Performance: Gregory Mountain Products Men's Citro 36 H2O Hydration Backpack by Joseph Adaymiln

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Practical daypack with all the trimmings!

This backpack deserves 5 stars for its comfort and lightness. Great for long day hikes or maybe an overnight stay if you can pack a light weight (I can't!). I prefer functionality over looks, and this pack works when you need it. Took this with me on an 8 mile hike across wide open fields; Direct 90 degree heat wasn't a problem with plenty of water (3 liter tank) and quick access to my goggles! Remember that when fully loaded you have about 30 liters of packing space left. I'm always skeptical of one-size-fits-all products, ESPECIALLY when it comes to packaging. Finding the right size for a long torso and small waist can be difficult, but this adjustability is just what I needed! The hip pockets on both sides are quite roomy, two side pockets fit full size Nalgene bottles. The zipper has an Osprey feel (very easy to operate with one hand, no hook design) while the back panel is borrowed (and improved) from Deuter and provides a good distance between you and the pack to allow air to flow through. thanks to Gregory's VaporSpan technology. I really like the material they chose, it seems to absorb any kind of moisture so there are no sweat stains (TMI?). There is no rain cover included but I don't think I'll need one for the purposes I will be using it for. The only other downside is that the chest strap can be a bit tricky to remove, but not too bad once you get the hang of it. The water tank is probably the best of all, it's a lot easier to fill with a screw top than bags that you have to hold open while filling. You can tell that Gregory put some thought into this package and has definitely proven himself and shown that he can match, if not outperform, the competition.
