Review on Mapnik by Steven Loy

It's really easy to put together some initial data to populate your map. The program is very intuitive, you can set up templates for different types of maps. I wish it was easier to use a shapefile instead of having to use a csv file. It's nice that it supports OSM tiles rather than just using my own files; however, this adds another layer of complexity to make sure everything works properly across different browsers, etc. For us, we're creating an interactive online GIS for our organization. We needed something that could easily be updated by someone who didn't have a lot of experience with programming, and Mapnik has allowed us to do this much more quickly than we thought possible.
