Review on πŸŽ₯ Lorex N841A82: Advanced 8-Channel Network Video Recorder with 4K Ultra HD, Smart Motion Detection, and Voice Control by James Womble

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Overall a decent recorder but lacks many features and options. The app is also missing.

This is my fourth CCTV System Recorder and my third Lorex System Recorder to own, install, configure and use. I also have experience installing, configuring and maintaining several other brands of consumer video surveillance systems such as Q-see, LaView, Z-Modo and Swann. Model NR900x. Both have advantages and disadvantages. I'll keep listing the pros and features that set the N841 apart and listing the cons if there are any issues or features I miss. Pros for N841: - The price is reasonable. - Vehicle and person detection as well as motion detection. - Smart search to find motion in specific areas during playback. - Support for Lorex color night vision cameras. - Easy to set up and set up remote viewing on your phone or tablet with the Lorex Home app. - Possibility of H.265 compression. Pros for N841: - Lorex Home app is useful but not user friendly and lacks many features e.g. B. you can't see all camera views, because you can't set multiple camera views to automatically show all at the same time when you open the app, you can't change or access many settings of the app, can't access the camera view very quickly app as you have to enter the password every time you close and reopen the app. - There seems to be a bug in the software that occurs when the system is completely shut down when attempting to view recordings in minutes, resulting in the recorder showing the recording 10 days earlier and between the correct time when deactivated and the right day switches recording and then back and forth to 10 days before recording, causing you to miss many of the few minutes of recording you want to watch to see what happened, leading to the recorder turns off. - Recognizing people works decently, but also picks up animals like cats and dogs. - You can only shoot in 4k at up to 15fps, which introduces a lot of motion blur, making 4k less clear than 1080p footage at 25fps, which is the highest for the cameras that come with it. - There is no remote control or buttons so only the mouse can be used to change settings. - Not Onvif Compatible - Cannot use Lorex 30fps 4k cameras or other brand cameras in this system
