I bought these cable ties because they are a bit wider than most. I travel to remote areas and keep a pack of 20 in my car for emergencies. I haven't had to use them yet, but they seem fine for temporary repairs. If you don't already know, nylon ties tend to slowly deteriorate when exposed to air. For this reason, most ties come with a warning that they should be kept in their original packaging. A pack of 200 ties is too bulky to just store in the car. I buy 8 mil thick 3" x 12" plastic bags and put 10 to 20 zip ties in each bag. I keep separate bags of ties in stock for emergencies. I keep extra zip ties in the original bag for double protection from oxygen. The 8 mil pockets are very puncture resistant and protect the drawstrings in my first aid kit well. I also keep some metal zip ties in the car in case I need to temporarily fix something that gets hot.
