Well I can neither speak nor understand the bad reviews about this car. This is my third in 4 years. Sound crazy? Ha! My first was abused by a former employee after 1.5 years, so I don't count it. My second FH50150 took 2 years 2 months. Sounds like a short life? Please note that we use this machine for a minimum of 8 HOURS every WEEK of the year. Got my third in December 2019 for $99 + taxes. (It came with missing parts but I obviously didn't care since I have parts I've never used :) I was going to buy a fourth one but the price went up to $149.00 literally overnight. I have read all the negative reviews and can understand some of them. The rest - the usual uneducated bullshit, poor thing. Negative reviews are most likely due to a lack of understanding of how to clean and store the car, as far as I know. After each use, the machine is lifted and inverted, extending the head to a horizontal position, and lowered into a "sink"; and don't forget to trigger the spray gun to empty that line as well. This means that all liquids drain out of the pipe on which the fresh water tank stands. I disassembled my second car to check on their concerns about leaks etc. I found a few rusty screws but no other obvious signs of corrosion. I'm not going to change engines to find out either. I'm no engineer but I'm pretty sure all motors like this have carbon brushes and considering the number of hours we've used this suction cup I'm very glad it lasted 2+ years! Incidentally, carbon brushes have a certain service life. And I seriously doubt that Hoover designed this motor to last 1000+ hours in commercial conditions. $1000+.and this one will leak too!The bottom exhaust works very well when you drive slowly.When you drive fast no car will pull properly.Every time clean the screen behind the suction blade.Wipe the green brushes with a rough one Rinse off plastic cleaner under hot water after each use. Drain a small gap at the bottom of the fresh water tank, pushing the little "thing" up each time. Dry all parts overnight, then collect and keep for next time )
