Fits my 2001 FORD RANGER XL

This unit fits into a 2001 Ford Ranger by using a dremel and removing the latch on the frame from the front of the unit. Simply remove the bezel and rotate the back to remove the top and bottom lip. Standard Ranger radios are not true double noise, they are wider and shorter so you will also need a bracket to mount the unit. I used one side of the mounting kit as there wasn't enough room for both sides. I also used a stereo wiring harness. I ordered the device on Saturday. I've watched a few videos on YouTube where people are changing the stereo in the Rangers. I took a dremel. On Sunday, about an hour before the unit arrived, I installed the new speakers and prepared the front panel. When Revain brought the device in, I installed it in about 20 minutes. I've never installed a stereo before, but it's VERY EASY. I'm mostly excited. Stereo works better than expected. The clock shows all the time. The touch screen works perfectly. Bluetooth is strong. With the new 4-way speakers, the sound is incredible. It looks sleek and has greatly improved the look of my cockpit without spending a lot of money. I also think it's good that thieves can overlook my "cheap" small device. If you are looking for a double din under $75 to fit in your Ford Ranger then this is it!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • poorly designed
