I really want to love this table. I like the weight, design, size. metal insert. What breaks me is not the chipboard used, but the veneer on it. Not covered with veneer. It is covered with thin paper similar to veneer. It's not waterproof. He scratches himself just looking at him. This table won't last long. My table was also damaged in transit and has a piece of top next to the metal top. That's how I know veneer is thin paper. I still love the design of this table. So I kept it because I knew I could make it beautiful. . I filled the hole in the table with wooden spatula. I bought real wood veneer and topped the table with real mahogany veneer. Painted and glued. Then I bought a glass top for the table. Currently. It looks like a million dollars and will last or years. Ashley furniture. Shame on you for selling a piece of crap. If better quality wood had been used for this table it would have received a 5 plus rating. He's not worth that much money. But to make this table usable I had to spend a few hundred more on it.
