These blocks are perfect for a child just starting to climb! My 1 year old daughter loves to climb on these blocks. We bought it for her a few months ago and she even loves to just sit on it. Five different shapes is good, but we're just going to use a large square, a small rectangle, and a slant. Maybe as she becomes more agile she will like other shapes. They also make a great base for a small pillow/quilt fort. The material feels durable and the colors are bright and inviting. The foam is strong enough for an adult to sit on without unduly deforming and it springs back immediately. Also, my cats love to sit on it.
