I bought this camera for my husband's 65th birthday. He had been using a point and shoot camera for over 10 years and wanted to take the next step in photography. We personally did a lot of research, read reviews and asked friends for their opinions. I bought this and it's a great entry level camera/kit for a good price. I had a Canon AE-1 camera with a different lens. I found an adapter and now he can use this lens with his new camera body. It was great to be able to use these absolutely fine lenses! The only real downside is that the tripod is weak. My husband uses it every day and learns new features with the 700+ page online manual!
