Review on Hudson Durable Goods Cross Back Adjustable Apron: Practicality and Versatility Combined by Brian Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great apron for carpenters!

This apron is just what I needed for my woodwork. Tired of ruining my clothes with stains and embellishments, I always looked for the last place I left my pencil and other small tools I used to work with back then. I've worn it a few times since receiving it and have the following initial observations: - Very durable product, thick material, waxed well. Fit and finish are excellent. I doubt waxing will penetrate much. No more spatter stains on my shirt! - Initially very rigid. When delivered, the apron is on the hard side, which is not surprising given its design. I think (hope) it will need a 'breaking in period' before it reaches its full comfort level and flexes and twists with my body. My first reaction was that all it takes is a good wash, but the instructions clearly state it's not machine washable. I hope I've used it enough to eventually soften it up and feel like my favorite pair of jeans. - Nice touch on the shoulder straps. The straps are made from approximately 3/4 inch thick nylon webbing that you would typically find on a backpack or duffel bag for tying things together. However, the first 12 inches up from the front hub (the part that goes over the shoulder) on each strap is surrounded by slightly wider and much softer material, see photo. - The bags are great. For me, the biggest motivation when buying an apron was the presence of pockets for small tools. I often found myself looking for something I could get my hands on a few minutes before I got to work in the store. Now where did I put that tape measure? I seem to have spent more time looking for a pencil than working on my projects. Front kangaroo pockets conveniently hold tape measures, set squares, and other small tools. The top pocket is perfect for pencils, small rulers, etc. I think you could put a cell phone in there as well, but I wouldn't do that when I'm working in my shop, it's better to put it on a bench in a safe place Place not to cause damage. You are a carpenter, I highly recommend this apron, expect it to accompany you for a very long time.
