This keyboard case took a little getting used to and slowed my overall typing speed by about 25% the first day I used it. not as smooth as others have said, at least not for me. I use this case for my surface 3 laptop; There is a large ledge at the bottom of the cover that does not allow the film to lay perfectly flat. When typing, the foil tends to rise along the key curve. I bought it mainly because I'm afraid of damaging or discoloring the Alcantara keyboard with oil or grease on my hands. It does its job well enough to protect the keyboard and the film is clear enough to show the keycaps and backlight. I notice a lower quality on the actual "edges" of the keys. The corners around each key are stiffer and less springy than the center of each key - this slows down the overall typing speed and also makes for a less premium skin feel. This also causes some of the tread to rise around adjacent wedges, primarily due to stiffness in the areas surrounding the wedges.
