OVERVIEW: Tenergy Dimmable 11W Desk Lamp I've had a similar dimmable LED desk lamp from Aukley for 5 years. 11 months. Unfortunately it is no longer available. If I could, I would just buy another one of the same kind. At first glance, apart from the name printed on the base, they appear to be identical…. RELATED:‣ Both have a USB charging port, which I've never used.‣ Both have 4 modes: Sleep, Rest, Study, and Read.‣ Both have 5 levels of adjustment in each mode to make the light brighter or dimmer.‣ Both lamps have a sleep timer that turns the lamp off after about an hour.‣ Both lamps - the vertical section can rotate left or right in the base.‣ Both lamps are a vertical section (the section that connects to the base) can from a vertical position to an angle that is no longer perpendicular to the base.‣ Both lamps, the lighting section, the section with the LEDs, can only be adjusted at a 45 degree angle.‣ Both have brackets and a vertical cut display , not on the base. My immediate reaction was that this one is a lot brighter than my old one, but...LEDs don't suddenly burn out like a lightbulb. They just gradually get darker and darker. After 6 years of daily use for many hours each day, it has become dimmer than it originally was. So this one is brighter, but only because the LEDs are new and not 25,000+/- hours. My old one finally broke at the hinge for the lighting part a few days ago. I have used it a lot. If I have this in less than 2 full days, I'm already missing this crucial feature. I tried to even out the lighting section at the top of the rack so I could order a new one as soon as it broke. I had to choose one that could be delivered the next day. I couldn't be happier that the old one broke considering how much it was used. I definitely got my money's worth with this lamp. Six years of constantly turning the lighting section on a plastic swivel and I have to admit sometimes things get stuck on that arm, which is to be expected. I just wish I could get the exact same lamp over again. However, it's quick and easy to set up. I haven't even read the instructions. I simply peeled off the plastic sheet protecting the various parts and removed (unscrewed) the bottom from the vertical section. Then pass the vertical part through the hole in the base and screw the bottom part back on to secure it. Then I inserted a round connector into the back of the vertical section behind the display and connected the cable to the surge protector. Touched one of the modes and.... Let there be light. Simple - anyone can assemble it in minutes. That's a good lamp. For most people who use it on their desk, it's great - a 5 star lamp. Light with different degrees of cool>warm light, dimmable, and you can charge some devices via USB port. But since I have used the swivel so often and already miss it, I give this lamp 4 stars. Now that I have a light again and it's not hanging from a wire I can look for one that rotates on top like my old one. I no longer have to worry and am no longer limited to how quickly it can be delivered. This one was so cheap I could give it away without batting an eyelid.
