I bought this for an upcoming wedding at home. Fits into standard medical lamp sockets so most lamps will fit. For best results, remove the lampshade to get the full effect of the lamp. The lamp has two rotating colored LED rings that shine through a faceted plastic sphere on each side. The bulb itself does not rotate. The light doesn't flicker, so it might be a safer choice for more public parties in places like a church or school. This will probably work best when used in a ceiling light fixture with the lampshade and other lightbulbs removed, as that way the pattern is most evenly distributed. But to us it looks like we're using our floor lamp - the pattern on the wall closest to the lamp is different and more concentrated than the pattern on the opposite wall. but it doesn't really matter as everything is still fun and festive. I received it quickly with no damage. It comes in amazingly sturdy retail packaging, making it a great gift for anyone who loves to party. I plan to put this in my party and airbnb suitcase and I'm happy with the sturdy box. The bottle and bowl lids are plastic and seem strong, so I'm less worried about the possibility of breakage.
