Old school gaming/modern tech meets SNES.

So I was tempted to go back to old-school nostalgic games, but let's face it, they clearly weren't designed for modern technology. That's where this little device comes from. Although advertised for the N64, I bought it for my SNES as the connector is identical. I read several reviews and decided to try it myself. Wasn't disappointed. The first thing to consider is the fact that it also uses the USB port to power the entire system. Luckily my TV has this slot. What interests me is the fact that when plugged into the back of my device, it turns the system on instantly. Correct, even if the device should be switched off. So you have to unplug the cable from the back to turn it back on. While I'm not a fan of it, it works and that's really all that matters for a 30-year-old console. Second, it took a few minutes to actually work. From black screen to blue screen. But I pressed reset on the console and indeed the game launched with ease. Aside from this classic, you need to blow into the cartridge to make it work. Third, the picture and sound were excellent. The device has a ratio setting of 16.9 or 4.3 and I had 16.9. Seeing the game back on TV like they looked like when I was a kid is amazing. And on a 55 inch TV my inner child screams with joy lol. Finally, so far it works great as intended and I recommend it. I wonder if turning on the device will have any long term effect, my console is 30 years old. But I believe that everything will be fine. In truth, this device has only fueled my desire to add new games to my collection. And with cartridges containing over 100 games, my excitement increased even more.
