The brick wall in the background is amazing. The background folds like a blanket, I took the next size up, not 5x7, and I had to fold it a bit, but that was ok because I wanted to take head to toe photos. I have a 5x7 on a different background, it only works well for upper body shots. Although it will arrive folded due to the brick pattern and dark background, you definitely don't need to iron it! The folds are not visible in the photos. If you want white brick you can also use the reverse side and you will get a faded white brick background. I don't think that's what they wanted, but I thought about it as I watched it. I didn't do it because I didn't have time to iron. White shows all wrinkles. My photos turned out fantastic! This was the first time I've used a background since I've been an amateur photographer!
